«La formación es nuestro futuro»: divulgación de los cursos de Formación Profesional en las regiones de Gabú y Bafatá, Guinea Bissau
As part of the Djanguen Liggoden en Gabú and Bafatá ( Study to Work Better) projects , ASAD launched a mini-community communications campaign this August, which will run for the first two weeks of August to promote the two vocational training courses scheduled to begin in October. The initiative aims to value vocational training as a real opportunity for development, paying special attention to young people and women in the communities.
The campaign, under the slogan «Training is our future ,» is being carried out in collaboration with community radio stations Radio Mulher Bafatá and Radio Sintcham Occo . The special programming has been designed to reach communities in a clear, accessible, and engaging way, promoting access to training as an essential tool for local development, social inclusion, and decent employment.
The campaign includes several awareness and dissemination tools:
- Specialized Radio Programs: In-depth radio content that explains all aspects of the courses: topics, dates, places, prices, target communities, requirements, career opportunities, among others. The programs will emphasize the importance of female inclusion, highlighting the empowerment of women in traditionally male-dominated professional sectors. Additionally, the programs will feature testimonials collected at Bubaque, where participants from previous training courses will share their experiences and achievements, encouraging new applications.
- Commercials: Short, dynamic messages broadcast multiple times throughout radio programming to attract community attention and encourage registration.
- ASAD social media posts: Graphic content and videos adapted to youth and community language, reinforcing commitment to the courses.
Details of the vocational training courses
The first courses offered within the framework of the Djanguen Liggoden projects between October and December are Civil Construction, in Bafatá, and Installation and Maintenance of Solar Electric Systems and Electric Pumps, in Gabú, with a workload of 450 and 300 hours, respectively. With 25 places available in each course (50% reserved for women), this is a unique opportunity for young people from rural communities to acquire technical and practical skills in areas with high demand in the local labor market.
The Civil Construction course will be taught by the CENFI (National Institute of Technology) in the city of Contubuel, and the Installation and Maintenance of Solar Electric Systems and Electric Pumps course will be taught by the Quelelé School of Arts and Crafts (EAO) at the DIVUTEC center in the city of Gabú.
The two training courses are aimed at the following tabancas:
Gabú: Sintcham Mama Samba, Querewane, Canhanque, Ponhe Maunde, Candate Fula and Gabú city.
Bafatá: Lamoi, Sare Dabel, Sare Metaboido, Sare Mamudu and city of Contubuel.
Although the training sessions are funded by the project, participants must pay a small registration fee of approximately 1,000 CFA francs per month.
