#Informadxs: young people taking prejudices apart through the critical analysis of media discourses
The project
This project aims to promote in Granada society a commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals related to gender equality, respect for diversity in a peaceful society, the reduction of inequalities and the conservation of the environment.
Both secondary school students and teachers from different educational centres in the province of Granada will be involved to this end in the eradication of discriminatory discourses through the critical analysis of media discourses and reflection on the presence of discriminatory stereotypes towards different groups for reasons of race, culture, gender, sexual orientation or cultural diversity, as well as situations of global injustice linked to environmental sustainability.
Main project activities:
- Training of 500 secondary school students through interactive video-workshops (1h duration) for the critical analysis of media discourses and social networks.
- Talks by experts and activists (1 hour long) on the topics related to the video-workshops (gender, cultural diversity, environmental sustainability and functional diversity) to the same students.
- Online training for teachers and educational agents for the eradication of discriminatory discourse using journalistic and communication tools and resources.
- Delivery of a video-workshop user guide with practical exercises and discussion scripts.
